can a line manager keep a photo lifted from facebook on your personal file?
A colleague of mine went to her manager and subsequently saw her file and there was a picture of her in a short skirt sitting on a wall with a drink in her hand at a carnival.
The photo had been lifted from Facebook. The colleague was off work at the time with stress. Ads |

Yes, of course. Your friend put it on Facebook, therefore it's in the public domain. If she was off with "stress" she might have some explaining to do.

An image placed on Facebook remains subject to copyright.
However keeping a screenshot for this sort of purpose sounds like 'reasonable use', and so I doubt there is any breach of copyright. If someone copied the image and used it for something like making a card sold at a profit, she could claim royalties. |
