How would I remove the Facebook app from my HTC Desire?

Can't get rid of it via the settings page, and every time I activate the phone it is the first damn thing I see.

Not the end of the World, but annoying.

How do I remove the app ?

I assume you can't uninstall it like a normal app ?

The only other way would be to root , and either freeze or uninstall via Titanium Backup.
OR
Flash a rom which doesnt have it pre installed

Since it's a pr-einstalled app you can't remove it, the only way to get rid of it would be to install a custom ROM which requires you to root your phone.
