make sure you have h1 and h2 tags. make sure all your pictures have descriptions and meta tags as search engines cant search or read photos only the text descriptions of them. make sure you do on site as well as offsite seo

Hi Charlie.

You need to do all of the basic on-page SEO stuff just like you would for any site. That means writing page titles (up to 70 characters) and meta descriptions (155 characters) for all of your products, category pages etc...

Here are all of the basics:

Specific challenges with E-commerce sites are:

Making all of your product pages unique, avoid using duplicate product descriptions and make all of your titles and descriptions unique and useful.

Keep your load times fast
Optimize for user experience

It may be helpful to do some conversion optimization on your product pages. Reducing your bounce rates will have a positive impact on your rankings (and sales).

Finally, consider starting a blog. Don't blog too often, instead focus on writing posts that are actually useful. Blogs are useful for building links; it's easier to build links to helpful blog posts than to product pages.

Sign up for analytics and webmaster tools and look out for pages which are doing well and also not to well. Optimize pages with high bounce rates and exit rates.
