why cant i upload my gifs to tumblr?

why cant i upload my gifs to tumblr?
everytime i go to upload a gif it says error uploading image. I have changed to size to 500 x 281 but it still doesnt work, does anyone know why?

I think that's because they have a size limit which is not enough for higher quality gifs and gifs with longer animations. I submit a lot of gifs on Tumblr, but those who are too big, I submit them on Empire Bay (http://www.empirebay.org/). EB is great because the size limit for images is 10MB and that's enough for all kinds of images.
