Is AT&T ripping me off?
I'm not sure if AT&T is ripping me off or not, so i'll ask here for help. AT&T is charging me $37 a month for 1 Mbps internet. I have been paying this for a couple of years now. I can hardly watch a YouTube video without it buffering. The upload speed is WAY worse, it takes me about 3 hours to upload a 100Mb video to YouTube. I used to have Charter and I remember the speed was great, but they started charging me $60 a month which is a bit pricey imo. I'm considering switching over to TDS Telecom, since they offer 18-25 Mbps in my area for $36 a month (for 2 years though :/) Do you guys think AT&T is ripping me off? Or is $37 a month for 1 Mbps too much? Thanks.

They are, and they're probably trying to push you to upgrade to a faster package. It costs them money to keep running deprecated hardware. Everybody these days is on newer technology enjoying faster speeds.
If AT&T can't upgrade your package for the same price, tell them you'll switch to another provider. They usually offer something better... give em a call.

Yes, I believe you should be getting more for your money with AT&T. Tell them you are looking to change providers because of their poor service and rates. You may get an upgrade to better download speeds with little or no change in your monthly bill. If the difference is too great, use your feet to walk away and seek better service elsewhere.
