Special characters in the title tag is recommendable?

Some of the websites place special symbols such as fiancée, such are recommendable in meta tags especially Title? other symbols such as & - are not ok or not?

It is better to write title without special characters but if it is not possible without them then you can do use it. Though it is not recommendable but it can be used it is not prohibited.

Only if part of the normal spelling in the choosen language, examining Google provided keyword statistics, I don't recall ever seeing keywords including punctuation, or special characters, it's probably better for SEO to avoid using them when reasonable.

If something in title is copyrighted,trademarked or registered then may be you could add the appropriate symbol to the title tag contents but other symbols are really a waste of valuable character space.
