How to make people followers not friends?

Hi guys, question about facebook When person sends me a friend request, how to make him not a friend but a follower instead? There's onyy options to accept him as friend or to click ''not now''. Of course there is a purgatory Could someone explain how to control who you want to be friends with and who you want to be followers of you?

You can't make them a follow. They would have to click on the "Follow" button instead sending you friend request. Also, you have configure your profile to allow for others to follow you:

And, the followers can only see your "Public" posts. So, if you don't make any public post, there is no point in allowing others to follow you.
