Are first time sellers on eBay trustworthy?
There is a cracked iPhone that I would like to buy on eBay. The seller is a first time seller but has a good buying record. Can I trust that seller?

There are so many fraudsters on eBay that use this "good buyer rep" technique with the intent of not performing once they sell. My policy is to let them earn a seller's reputation on someone else's back.
There's always experienced eBay sellers hawking the same crap you're looking at right now. You don't take chances online when you don't have to. Ads |

Every seller was a first-time seller once, so it doesn't mean they are dishonest. A good buying record counts for something, too. I probably wouldn't buy a high-dollar item from a seller with no track record, but might buy a lower value item from a first-time seller with a good buying record if everything else seemed legit.

You never know with Ebay. I would look for someone who is rated as a seller.
