Ramadan- question about piercings?
if it's haram to get piercings on the body, then why is it permissible to pierce ears? that's still part of the body. I thought it was because our body will return to god etc.
and another thing, are nose piercings halal or haram? Just a general question I was wondering about (not planning to do anything lol) thank you x Ads |

You can't wear piercings in front of men you're not married to, but other than that, I think you're fine

Interesting. I answered this question on Facebook last night..
Piercings are adornments and as a Muslim woman our adornments should not be displayed. Ear piercings are allowed because there is direct daleel for it from hadith. Now since we have to do hijab because it is fard- our ears are hidden so your ear jewellery will not show. However if you wear a nose stud does your headscarf cover it? Of course not, your face is visible. So then you have to wear niqab, which is not fard. Therefore majority of scholars say nose piercings are not from Islam, because this practice was not known in the time of the prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam, but exists in Hindu culture. But some scholars say it is fine if you wear it as an adornment for your husband and you must wear a niqab in front of non mahram. And Allah knows best |
