haa, the question began and all these perfectly crafted answers are all within the same two hours huh? Sounds like a setup to me!

I've been using Matt Callan's Unique Article Wizard for a couple of years. It doesn't send to 'article directories' but to a network of sites that are manually reviewed by Matt's team and approved as "real sites." If you're looking at an option to AMR, at least checkout UAZ.
