How to make sure a buyer resends refunded item on ebay?

Kinda complicated... Recently I sold an item to a buyer and she changed her mind after I shipped it and she already paid. I opened up a "cancellation request" case in the Resolution Center, and it's telling me to refund her even before she accepts to this request... but how do I know she will resend the item? Will ebay require her to resend the item after I've refunded? I refuse to send this buyer a refund without knowing that my item is on its way back.

Usually sellers wait till they get the item back before they issue a refund.

Never, ever refund until you have the item in your hands, and have inspected it. If you refund now the buyer can keep the item and her money and you will be out of luck. Ebay will not protect you from that. Cancellations should only happen while you still have the item. Once it's sent it's a straight up refund issue, not a cancellation one.
