People can now see on the Internet how many others are suffering at the hands of religions from things like indoctrination so they don't feel alone anymore and can seek help.

Because the JW religion is psychologically harmful. Members can be indoctrinated to the point that the guilt-inducing and fear-inducing propaganda of the organization is accepted as reality. Also, a person's entire social life is often limited to other JWs. When such a person leaves the organization or is thrown out, he is shunned by virtually everyone in his social life and he may be convinced that he is as good as dead. The weight of this psychological trauma and social isolation have led some to commit suicide.
One has to extricate himself from the JWs in a careful and gradual way. One has to first deprogram himself, i.e. he has to do objective and independent research to prove to himself that the JW organization really isn't "The Truth" as it claims to be. He has to see all their embarrassing and dangerous errors through the years so that he can come to realize that they obviously don't have God's approval and backing. Once he has done this, the JW propaganda can no longer be used to manipulate his feelings by playing on guilt and fear. He also has to build new social ties outside the membership of the organization, be willing to say goodbye to all his JW friends and family and extricate himself from dependence on anyone who is a JW because he will be totally shunned by *all* JWs when he leaves. Once all of the above has been done he can then formally disassociate himself or just slowly fade from the group. |

Because people are traumatized the false teachings of this cult. BTW I graduated school and now I am an official state certified mental health counselor and plan to set up a face book page to help people escaping from all religious cults.
