How do i build a successfull online store?
i want to start my own online store, but i just want to know what would have to be done to make it successfull? i used to sell on ebay a lot, and even became a powerseller, but ebay closed my account because i could not keep up with the montly bills which were just ridiculous, but im aware that i would need to get my website on or near the front page of google, in order for people to see it, so what is the best way of doing that? also what are other things i should be concerned about?

Online stores are difficult my friend. There are much easier ways to make money online. My advice, if you're 100% committed about going ahead, is to build your own and use SEO to get ranked in Google.

There's two steps to SEO: what you do on your website to target keywords and the links you get from other websites that help you get ranked.

You would need to target keywords that people are searching for related to your products. What's working right now in terms of getting links is contextual links from related blogs.

So let's say you're selling golf clubs. If you target "golf clubs" on your product page, and lots of golf bloggers link to it, Google will definitely rank you highly for that keyword.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to get these links (which is why they work so well). You only really have two options. Build a private blog network (expensive) and link to your site from your own blogs, or use guest posts on other blogs if they accept articles from strangers, which some do.

Either way, this is a long, hard route to go. It's very hard to establish that kind of business.

There are other online business models that work better. What works best for me is selling information products (both as a product owner and as an affiliate). The margins are insane (99%+), the traffic out there is almost unlimited, people are willing to pay for information is the best niches, and it's relatively cheap and easy to get started.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck!
