I need help inserting commission junction or linkshare links?

Most links looks like this

That is a txt/email type of links but after highlighting my desired txt then insert link on it then send the email to my other mail account for test. After opening the mail the txt was color blue which means there is a link on that link but i can't open it, probably a wrong used of links.

Now how can i make it work? Do i have to cut the <a href=" at the beginning and the " > at end?
I know href used for inserting something in a website.

While I cannot speak directly about LinkShare, I would suggest going to the Support Center on your CJ Account Manager. There is a topic (What part of the link code do I need to use within Search/Social Media marketing?) that goes over the portion of the link you would need to use in order to have a simple URL that will track back to your account.
