can you lie about item location on ebay?

i'm In college and need a little extra income, so what I've been doing is buying things and 'flipping' them for a quick profit. People who have to pay high prices for these items are mad about this. well, one guy who also likes these items, lives very close to me. Can I lie, and say that the item location is a state away, so it makes it harder for him to know i'm selling them?

I'm not sure. This may be considered fraud in an attempt to escape tax laws in one state. EBay certainly knows your exact business location because that's where they'll send their income tax form at the end of the year.
