How come my Old friends on Facebook don't like my Profile pictures?

So I use to live in texas and graduated from high school there 4 years ago, then, I went to a community college in Virginia for 2 years, then I transferred to a university. I have 500 friends on facebook, but only 11 people will "Like" my picture on facebook and those people are actually in mylife currently. My old friends don't like it.
