How to get a custom email?
How do i get an email that looks like, say, asdj@ghaisd.rerdi ? I locked myself out of my hotmail account and it turns out that at the time of creation I just entered some random stuff as my referral email, and as security questions as well Smile

To take full control of your own email account and have it on a custom address you need to register a domain name and sign up for email hosting. A hosting company like GoDaddy can offer you this service for a small fee each month. However please consider that you will need basic technical skills to set it up.

To get a personal email, you shouldn't have to pay anything above your regular hosting fee. So if any provider, GoDaddy or other, wants to charge you for your email, consider a different provider.

Now you won't be able to create an email like asdj@ghaisd.rerdi, and that's because the part after the @ needs to be a domain name, and while the first part of the domain name could very well be ghaisd, the end part cannot be rerdi. It can be com, net, org, ca, fr, co.uk, etc., but it cannot be rerdi (you could, however, have the following: asdj@ghaisd.rerdi.com, for example).

Assuming you want to create an email asdj@ghaisd.org, here is what you would need to do:

1] register the domain name ghaisd.org (I'm not a big fan of GoDaddy, and I use Namecheap instead),

2] get a hosting account (I would suggest Hostgator; they have a stellar customer service, but you can choose any hosting service as long as they have a cPanel, that will make things easy for you),

3] point the nameservers of your domain to the nameservers of your host (ns1.xxxxxxx & ns2.xxxxxxx; if the place where you registered your domain offers hosting too, then this step is not required),

4] log into your cPanel at your host, and, in the email section, create your email account.

Once done, you would be able to configure your email client using the connection parameters provided, and you would also be able to access your email using webmail at webmail.ghaisd.org

The procedure is very straight forward.
