If i buy a better router will that improve my internet speed/download speed?

If i go to walmart or best buy etc and buy a new router for my house. will that help improve my wifi speed/download speed for streaming on my laptop and xbox and tv etc?

There is a good chance, but don't buy a cheaper one or your wasting your money

A better router might get you a better connection if you are on the edge of your existing router's wifi, but is unlikely to provide any speed faster than when you are close to your existing router, like less than 20 or 30 feet away. To go any faster than that, you generally have to pay for a faster connection from your service provider.
