Only can message on Facebook can't add?

Okay so I was trying to add one of my friends on Facebook, but I only got the option of messaging her. My friend then tried seeing if it would work for her and she got the option to add her, but I couldn't..is there a reason behind this Jw!

your question is not clear. I think you want to know one person chat with you & you want to only chat him right ? this solution is open your facebook then going to chat then chat option top-left side circle icon then click there and advance option then here option & choice your option.
