That is a good question. It may be less popular in the future if the website doesn't put new things in it. Now Facebook is becoming more like a business advertising website than a social website.

Every social media website becomes less popular and less trendy over time. When I was a teenager it was myspace, hi-5, tagged, bebo, myyearbook, vampirefreaks and emoscene.com, so yeah facebook will over time be used less frequently just like myspace and bebo and people will move to another popular social media website like google+
