.com vs .co.in vs .in in terms of SEO?

I am thinking of putting my business online I had buyed a .COM domain name for it and I want to know that is it useful to buy a .CO.IN or a .IN domain name to increase the traffic for my business.
Please help.
and if possible explain in bit details.
I want to know about the search engine behavior regarding the different domain extensions. and how can Search engine optimization of website can be increased via such practices.

Depends on traffic you are after.

Google has a local search site for each country. like Google.ca for Canada or Google.fr for France. These local search engines give priority to local domains.

So if you are targeting Indian traffic go for the .in if you are targeting international traffic then .com is better.
