How to change your profile picture on Facebook to an old one and keep the likes?

I tired the usual method of going to the album with the image and clicking 'make profile picture', but that just makes a duplication of the photo and doesn't actually keep the likes. How else can I do it?

You Probably Did Not Do it Right

Did you Go to the Album That its in Or Did you Go to the Profile Pictures Album

if you Went to the Album That its in You Did It Wrong

If you Went To the Profile Pictures Album

It Should've Kept the Likes When you Changed it Back to that Picture

If you Have Not Used it Before As a Profile Picture Than it Wont Be Possible

Don't worry dear,
just go to in your profile photo album.
If you choose image from any other album then it will not contain all your likes.
But if you choose image from profile photo album then it will contain all your likes.

You can change profile pic by follow these steps...
1. Log in to your Facebook account.
2. Hover your mouse over your original picture.
3. Decide whether you want to choose from your photos, take a photo, or upload a photo.
