Is there an American versian of the Japanese "herbivore men"?
I am a heterosexual 30 year old American man who chooses to remain single and celibate for a multitude of reasons, not unlike the herbivore men. I am not obsessed with my grooming but I am more focused with bettering myself and becoming successful. Is there an American version of the "herbivore men" movement??

Probably. You give a name to it, and a movement can spring up in our internet-connected world.

I really think there have been these kind of men (and women) throughout history -- relationships are messy, and they are a gamble, and when they go wrong, they can go really, really wrong. But when they go right, they are worth all the hassle, so most people are willing to gamble.

I'm sure if you google, you'll find a group on Facebook or something that promotes the ideals of a single life for a single sex. (A lot of women are happy to give up on men, too, you know.)

I think it's better to ask this on other sections like Social Science> Gender Studies.

This is Travel > Japan section.
