I bidded on a item on ebay and won but im unable to pay?

the seller already sent out the item out and i contacted ebay and they said if i don't pay for the item its not my fault its theirs cause i didnt pay yet and its their responsibility that they should of waited and when i asked the seller to cancel the purchase they responded rudely and called me lame.. So what would happen if i dont pay for the object they sent to me and whats the worse case scenario that would happen to me
