Can someone hack my computer through facebook?
I have someone who's on my friend list, who I know is sort of a hacker, and I just wantet to know if he can hack my computer through facebook.
If someone actually manages to hack a computer, what will they be able to see? Documents? Pictures? Things you type at that same moment? Connect to your webcam?
I would also like to know how to protect my computer from hacking.
Thanks!

Hmmm not sure if they could through facebook but yes anyone can hack into anyones computer if they know how if they do hack into your pc then yes they will have access to everything pic's, vid's, webcam, etc...

There is also a couple of ways he can access your pc withough much trouble he could use a RAT-remote access tool it creates a backdoor entrence to your pc so he can have access to anything this is usually accomplished if you download something from the person who made it such as a game file could have it .

theres also a key logger which is also attained through a download or other means it looks like a good program but when you open it nothing happens but on your pc the key logger has just started working what it does is it records all your keystrokes and sends them back to the creator like if you typed in a bank account number he will have it.

Though with a good anti-virus you will usually always pick up a key logger and maybe a RAT but no computer can ever be fully protected look at the military's computer's they have been hacked more than once and they have the highest protection possible.

There are several other means to hack a pc these two are just examples.

so my suggestion is to just get a good anti-virus and don't download files from your friend and be careful what you download from other sites as well.

Nobody can hack your computer through Facebook if you are referring to just users on Facebook. This is because what one user does on Facebook has no impact on any other user on Facebook, except in the games which run on external servers. However, some Facebook app developers could have malicious apps which could gain control over your computer if you activate them. Facebook is fairly proactive about this and tests all apps before they become available to site members, but there is a vague possibility it could happen.

Easiest way to hack someone's computer is to get them to help you by having them install something, so do as the other person suggested and don't accept any files from this person. That way you can't get caught out with something you *thought* you knew what it was but were wrong.

Easiest way to be sure it's as safe as can be is to run through a comprehensive clean to make sure no malware is on it now and then run through the advice on keeping it safe. Start with cleaning:

Not so much hack your computer as provide you a trojan which you download and install into your computer ("Is this you in this video?"). Some of the latest trojans work through javascript and allow access to your computer the next time you start it.
