I don't wanna see my new psychiatrist?
All he is gonna do is label me as schizophrenia because of my past delusions and hallcinations.
I hate my past delusions. Sad
Oh thanks lot, Erick.

The reservation of talking with your new psychiatrist is understandable as no one wants to feel "labeled". However, please keep in mind that the board-certified psychiatrist has had extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of those with mental disorders. Therefore, being able to differentiate between various mental illnesses that have similar symptoms is common for that type of doctor.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the non-profit, NAMI ("national alliance on mental illness"), but they might have have a local support group or workshop for the mental health consumer and/or their families. NAMI also has "peer-to-peer" support and other services.

Their website has a free sign up for "discussion groups", but please remember to *not* post personal info about oneself, such as last name, "facebook" contact, town/city, or other possible identifying information.

Here is their website (though, *not* in place of treatment from a psychiatrist and/or licensed therapist): http://www.nami.org/ and can click "Find Your Local NAMI" and/or "Support & Programs".
