there are numerous ways to get traffic to your website:

- advertising. Advertising is obviously the main way. try and get a deal with some more 'popular' websites who will put your website advertisement on their page. They will usually charge you a small fee.

-social networking/media. copy and paste your link and tell your friends to check out your page, tell their friends about it, etc. this can be done with websites like facebook, or through texting.

- word of mouth. go around and tell people about your website. tell your family, friends, family friends, etc.

you haven't really told us your target market (the group of people you intend to have your website aimed towards), so its sort of hard to answer any more of the question.

write about things which people want to read or see. i have seen website like faking news which got good traffic because their news is funny. do something which people want to read.
