Any strategies on how I can win my guitar competition?
The three song I want to play are gimme shelter anyway you want it and call me the breeze I know the solos for all except anywah you want it. My teacher said another student knows the solo for sweet child of mine will I get some competition with that? I'm going to pkay as a group then duo and then with my teacher. I was also thinking of statesboro blues me playing Duanes part and my teacher playing the rhythm.he said to win its not really about difficulty its more on accuracy and how clear you can play it. Any advice? Should I ask people on youtube like privettricker or mlswartz for advice? I really want to win first place.I also would like to show off to the judges with a guitar slide cause its rare that they've seen someone play slife. Gimme Shelternis easy I mightnhave another guitar playing in Open E and I play in standard with the solo and I got call me the breeze its just anyway you want it the teacher said he will work on it with me and get tabs. Should I also try an ACDC song?

All I'm going to advise it that you listen to the teacher about accuracy over difficulty. (Which I believe I have told you as well, in different terms. Quality over quantity, whenever you ask about "shredding" and how to play fast)
Which is why I'm going to suggest you not do any slide work. Side done badly, or, sloppily will make the judges cringe. they would be looking for accuracy and pitch with that. And you have to be PERFECT with slide.

When I'm in a club or at a guitar center and I hear other guitarists playing, I can tell if their guitar has even one string slightly out of tune, or if their bends come up flat. And it makes me cringe. Same with a bad slide.
That is why I don't attempt it. I am not accurate enough and will undoubtedly go flat or sharp on the slide placement. It takes along time to master slide guitar.

One key thing between you and "Sweet Child of Mine" boy is how well you two improvise.
You see, the judges are not going to know the songs note for note. The opening licks to Child are essential, but the solo itself is comparable to Any Way you Want It, being a kind of blues scale rock solo.

So if you two can improvise, it will come down to how well you know how to apply scales to the fretboard. Which I've tried to advise you one. If all you do is try to copy with tabs, you will never really learn how to solo.

One thing that would help me advise you, is if you could email me your Facebook links to your videos or songs you say you have put up there, so I can know what I'm dealing with more accurately. Then I can give you much more focused advice. Right now, I have no idea of how you play, and so I can't tell you anything really useful except general things.
Anyone else will have about the same advice without hearing you, so I wouldn't bother PT or the other youtubers if I were you.
