How do I make a name for myself in the comics Industry?
How can I be successful in creating my own comic, and making a name for myself in the industry?
Yes I've heard of Cyanide & Happiness

Try to be original, but unique, try to find a name that sounds cool but also seems real.

I am having a similar problem - I want to start making stop-motion videos and stuff like that but I'm scared my material will get stolen. I think YouTube is a great place to get a name out for yourself but people may try to steal your ideas and I don't know how you would incorporate comics into a YouTube video. Have you heard of Cyanide and Happiness? They are a very popular online comic strip group and I like their pages on Facebook and they interact with their fans a lot, you should try messaging one of them for advice. Also you should create your own Facebook page and regularly post things about your comics (maybe even have some small give-aways or something), if your page is interesting then you should get quiet a few likes just from that which would give you a pretty big fan-base. I don't know anything about copyright or publishing but I think you should go to a publishing house and get your comics published. Find other comic book writers in your area (or other artists, etc) and host an event somewhere in the biggest town around you. P.s. if you have some other talent that would get people's attention like making random YouTube videos, for example, then you could promote your comic book at the end of each video. I hope that helped some, good luck with everything!

Sorry this is so long but I thought I should add that once you become a little more popular try reaching out to stores to see if they would sell your comics. Don't be scared to ask around
