Why do most white people hate Indians and mock us all the time?
Asking because I saw a ton of tweets. Many of them are joking about how they insulted an Indian person in real life. It just hurts me that we are not considered humans in the U.S.

Please consider the fact that the loudest people are not the spokespeople for an entire race.

Just because some inconsiderate bigots use relative anonymity to preach their brand of hate... that does NOT give you a free pass to generalize an entire race.

It hurts me to be insulted based on my skin color.

Mainly due to ignorance and arrogance. 'White' has always been seen as 'superior'

Specifically for Americans, they cannot think for themselves and the media/government tells them what to think; if you do not look like them, you must be 'bad'

Things are getting better. Even native born minorities aren't treated humanely from time to time, but you can't automatically say that all white people hate you for being Indian. Just because a lot of them may treat you badly doesn't mean plenty of others don't empathize with the plight of minorities and see people as people, not races. Don't paint everyone with the same paintbrush, everyone deserves their own.

yeah i know it hurts because you don't feel equal right but its alright remember whites treat all other races the same way they make fun of blacks they make fun of asian middleasterners and hispanic heres an example they say black people like watermelons and fried chicken , they say arabs are sand n*ggers hispanics are beaners or taco's asians are slanted eyed dog eaters . yeah its a shame because we are all equal as humans but remember this NO one is better than no one but in this case indians have given more to the world than white people have so have blacks and every other race.

Do they? Most white people don't Tweet.
So much for your theory that most hate you.

I went on your link and didn't see any racist posts directed towards Indians. There were some jokes but these were from Indians themselves.

This video surprised me:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOeKpO6dK1k

I didn't really know there was much racism in the Middle East but for rejecting a guy like that then there probably is. Anyway I am Indian myself born and raised in England and the sad reality is that a lot of people are racist against Indians. This comes in a variety of ways such as racial bias to just looking down on Indians but it is certainly prevalent.

When it comes to racism Indians are definitely the most disliked by far. I think people perpetuate negative stereotypes on the basis of culture and Indian customs and how India as a society is. India is without a doubt the dirtiest country in the world and the poor exceed the wealthy by a vast amount. The first generation Indian immigrants to the West had cultural customs and mannerisms which were perceived as bizarre by the west such as eating with hands, wearing huge dots on the forehead, lacking personal hygiene.

And these stereotypes stick today on even Indians born and educated in the west. The cliché that all Indians have a heavily accented English accent even if they sound American or British, that we are dirty and unclean even if we have excellent personal hygiene, that we eat nothing but curry. All these stereotypes and many more make others subconsciously look down on Indians as people have a set view of Indians which they cannot get out of their head even if they don't realise it.

For example when Jay Sean first hit America most people presumed he was Hispanic (With the name not sounding obviously Indian) and he was popular. When people found out he was Indian? His popularity went right down and now if you see most of his fans they are Indians. So in retrospect I think the negative stereotypes of Indians instilled from a young age into people gives others a negative view on them and makes people hold a massive disrespect for them. As I mentioned before Jay Sean in a Hispanic light there are no strong negative stereotypes which would hold him down in that way. As an Indian people just think of all the negative connotations that would go along with him because of his race - Smelly, Dirty, Unclean when in reality he is the opposite of all these things.

But to change this racial bias against Indians would be to totally dismantle the general thought patterns of those in society, which is a very tricky task to do. But from my perspective this is the reason why we Indians as a whole are disliked so much. It's a sad reality but nonetheless true.
