Why won't Microsoft Auto-Update old version of Internet Explorer?
I'm a web designer and I IE8 below is driving me bonkers. Why won't old version of IE auto update when running on Windows 7 or XP or whatever Windows OS people are using. Windows would always update but why is IE7, IE8 still exist. Why is my google analytics still detects IEold user?

It sounds to me, like you may have told IE that you didn't want to run its updates. All this means is that you have to manually update it to IE9 and if you choose to, IE10.

Microsoft has said, though, if you want to use IE10 on Windows 7 NOT to use the automatic update to IE 10, but to go to the download center and pull it from there, because the one you get via the automatic update has issues when running on Windows 7.

I hope this helps.
