I have known 2 or 3 people with Facebook that have died. A family member can close the account if they have passwords. I know of a few that people still post to on birthdays, holidays as remembrances.

Your family can contact Facebook and then your profile turns into 'memorial' mode where no one can log in to your account or add you as a friend, but your profile is still there for people to read and they can post messages on your wall to say they miss you. Otherwise it just stays exactly the same as if you were alive cos facebook can't know you're dead unless someone tells them.

Here is the official facebook policy on what happens when someone dies: https://www.facebook.com/help/150486848354038

Here's a news article where they explain more about it: http://content.time.com/time/business/ar...03,00.html

and here's the form people use to report someone as dead: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/305593649477238

I hope this helps Smile Try not to die yet though lol
