How are you supposed to make friends on Tumblr?

I had a Tumblr before but I lost the password blah blah, I made a new one but...well...I don't understand how you're supposed to make friends on this site. I'm just so confused. I always hear these stories about people who love their Tumblr friends more than their real friends. Tumblr always seemed like a site I would enjoy, I like music, video games, fiction, writing...and all things well...'geeky' or 'nerdy' or whatever the kids call us these days.

I'm just so confused.

Any help would be appreciated....

And I know this question is lame but it just confuses me! I just would really like to get into this site but I feel weird....Good god this is lame as fuck xD
