How do I delete a hidden friend (that facebook added to my profile without my permission) from facebook?

Facebook has somehow added a friend to my list which I didn't authorize - my page says I have 31 friends when I have thirty - the hidden friend only shows in the numbers but doesn't show who the "friend" is on my home page.

That honestly doesn't happen, Facebook cannot and will not accept a friend request for you or add someone on your behalf, it will just be a glitch in the site and it's honestly nothing to worry about! There's no such thing as 'hidden' friends or profiles, if someone is your Facebook friend you will be able to see their profile and see their name in your friends list. The only possibly other option is, did you have a Facebook friend who deactivated their account? If that's the case, their account still exists, and if they reactivate it they will still have you as a friend. Don't worry!
