How to Make all internet traffic pass through a particular PC?
I want to place my computer between my dsl modem or router and all the other computers so that all the internet traffic goes through my computer. How can i do that and what more equipment do i need? Currently, i have lan cables, one lan card, one dsl modem or router, one switch and my PC.

Your computer would need two wired connection... this because it has to pass through (modem) one and enter other (Router's WAN port)...

Share internet connection and done... pass through complete. (Modem will pick up PC connection and router will pick up internet connection).

Your Computer can act as a sophisticated router/firewall with the right hardware and software.. but also a waste as you can get a dedicated cheaper devices such as a router or firewall... but hey practice and learn.

In its simplest form, you would still need 2 nics (lan cards) as mentioned. Then with one nic connected to your router/modem connect the other one to the switch. If running Windows, enable ICS (internet connection sharing on the nic connected to router/modem. Make sure the other nic is set to get IP and everything automatically (ICS will assign it one). Then connect other computers or devices to the switch, ICS will give them IP addresses and everything would be funneled through your computer.

Although, in general Linux would be better for that than Windows because it has various network tools either included or easily installed at no charge and is very configurable about what you can firewall or not, monitor, proxy, port forward, etc. Although, it would also have a steeper learning curve if not familiar with it.
