You can start with your pop-up blocker on your current browser. Probably under TOOLS at the top of your screen.

If you are talking about Yahoo ads, they are part of the experience. They keep the site free to use.

If you switch to Firefox as your internet browser, you can use its AdBlock feature which eliminates almost all ads.
