Laptop connects to Wi-Fi only when our Desktop is on?
We have a WRT160N Linksys/Cisco router and recently, I've found out that this (HP Windows 8) laptop connects wirelessly to the router only when the desktop that's connected to the router through an ethernet cable, is on.

(Desktop Computer on = Laptop is able to connect wirelessly)

Before, during the summer and further, I was able to connect to the internet with no problems whatsoever. When I try to connect now with the desktop off, it says that I am unable to connect to the connection.

Any idea how this happens, or how to fix it?

make sure DHCP is enabled on your WRT160N Linksys/Cisco router
