Can I make an anonymous LinkedIn account?

Hi, I already have a proper LinkedIn account and I am trying to promote a small technology meetup group in the city. The problem is I would prefer not to be affiliated with it until I know it will work and go ahead so my question is should I create an anonymous account for this, or is there a way of making a LinkedIn fanpage/group from my own account without everyone known who made it?

Which would be best?
