internet keeps cutting out and on?
We've been having this problem for a while now and we have had two techs come to our house with a third coming this thursday...and we have called them to countless times for help as well...at this point im annoyed and irritated with this problem....anyways...back to the problem well our modem seems to be fine all the lights are working like they are suppose to and our modem had already been swapped out once from our second visit with the technician....so Im thinking it cant be the modem we do have a netgear router hooked up as well to the modem.....I asked the question to one of the techs if the router could be a possible problem being that we had it for a lil over 2 years and she said no....so at this point im not to sure what the hell to do...ive been reading stuff online(using my phone) about dns problems which I have no idea whats all that about because im not a big computer guy....but that being said does anyone have or had the same problem?

Routers are electronic equipment and they eventually will fail.

The first router I bought did not work right all the time, I finally replaced it.

The router I am using now worked well for about five years, but two years ago, it began disabling its ports after about 100 minutes. I turn it off and back on again and it's good for another 100 minutes or so. I have bought a new router but have not installed it yet.

Modems also fail, but it is unusual that two modems would fail unless they came from the same manufacturing batch.

Have you tested your router and modem with another computer?

It's possible your computer is the problem, as it has an ethernet port and that port could be going bad.

You can get USB adapters that give you an Ethernet port so you would not have to use the one that came with the computer.

Or are you using wireless ? Wireless is susceptible to radio interference from other electronic devices, including other wireless routers and cell phones, etc.
