How come my internet connection is so slow all of a sudden?
My internet has been fine up till now. This morning it was working perfectly, then all of a sudden it just become so slow (I use a desktop which is connected to my router) and even when I attempt to connect to my wifi with any other device (such a cellphone or console) it just wont connect any more. It now takes at least a 30-60 seconds to search anything on google, youtube videos are now constantly freezing and I am barely able to use social media websites such as facebook. I have no idea why this has spontaneously occurred. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this and/or why this is happening?

Happens to me sometimes. Since it happened suddenly, I think it's because your ISP is throttling your speed because it's experiencing heavy traffic.

Give it till tomorrow, and it'll be running like new again.

unplug and replug your router. must wait for five min. if it still doesn't work then computers is right about heavy traffic.

There is a couple of possible explanations for why your internet has began to slow down. The main two are: 1) You may be getting DDOSed, if you have any sort of control through your computer to tinker with the routers settings you may be able to see if you are as the amount of downloaded data will be high.

The other is your isp may just be having problems in your area, I would suggest you contact your isp and question why.

Could be your ISP throttling you or they have simply be having problems. Would help to know what kind of Internet you have, as Cable internet is more prone to problems. Also could just be a problem with your modem or router overheating.

Make sure other people or neighbors don't have your password especially if you let one of them work on your computer to see it.

Unfortunately this is a very common problem. i had the same problem with my netgear, the only solution was to unplug power for thirty seconds and re plug

I was just about to ask the same thing. Everything was running fast and smooth today than around the later afternoon and then suddenly I've been getting major lag in games and takes almost a minute to load pages. I thought it was my roommates fault cause they could have been downloading movies or something but no one was using any major bandwidth. Plus what is funny is that I called a restaurant earlier to order some food and they were complaining about slow computers too. Seems like there is either some high server traffic or they could be doing some possible maintenance.
