Advertising Question for dating website?
Hi all,

I just wanted to know if anyone knows where I can advertise either online or in magazines etc. I have recently setup a dating site and need to start advertising. Can anyone also tell me if advertising on Facebook would be a good choice? Not sure if people even click on the advert links.

I would also like to know how I can get it high up in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).

Thanks in advance.

Think about who you're specifically targeting. Do you want to work with busy professionals, matching same sex couples or the over 50's? Maybe you want to attract all of those but it helps focus your advertising if you concentrate on one message to one group at a time.

For example, if you were targeting the over 50's, there are many websites and forums specifically for them. Those are the places to advertise or even post if you've someone in that age bracket.

Off-line the same principles apply. Consider specialist magazines so that you can target your advertising. Magazine adverts are not cheap so you need to be confident that you're reaching your target audiences.

Facebook might work but it's very generalist which means your advert could be in front of millions without it really being seen by those it's aimed at.

SEO is a big issue. Think about what your potential customers will search on, not what you provide. For example, someone wanting to buy a specific brand of baked beans would search on stockists of that brand rather than a general search for supermarkets.

Put those search words and phrases in your keywords and meta tags. If you have a large database of people in Glasgow, say, put something like dating agency Glasgow in your key words. Your site won't necessarily come high up the rankings when people search for dating sites but when they put in extra words such as dating site for doctors/farmers/secretaries, yours will appear higher because you've included those words in your site.

As I said, SEO is a big subject that's too large to cover in an answer on here but it's possible to do a lot to improve your rankings without spending on SEO services that don't do anything more than you can do yourself.

Good luck!

Of course it's business! If you think that you're losing a lot of money on shipping fee, then

don't sell it to Ebay. Consider other classified sites that is the same as Ebay.
