Learn about internet connections and wires and stuff!?

Hey guys! Thanks for clickin' on this question to help me!

I'm curious about web connection stuff. I know quite a lot of general knowledge about computers and such, but when you ask me to deal with a modem and routers and such. There are several types of network protection like WEP, WPA and LEAP.

Can anyone maybe give me a crash course on this, or a resource of some sort? I'd really appreciate it!
