What did Larry Johnson supposedly say in his twitter?
What is this supposed "gay slur" that LJ said in his twitter? I mean, what were the exact words, and why is it being treated as the Gulf of Tonkin Incident? If I were the Chiefs, I would have cut him more for the comments about the coach than some word he said offhand.

Have we become this politically correct now, that a still-talented football player can lose his job just for saying a 3-letter word that doesn't even violate the FCC rules?
Is that true, Answerer #3? He said 'queers' and not the 3-letter f-word? He's got cut for saying 'queer?' Nobody says 'queer' anymore. It's one of those antiquated words.

I say again: has political correctness taken such a hold over us?

If so, then 2 things need to happen: The Cincinnati Bengals need to sign LJ ASAP, and then they need to win the Super Bowl and shut a whole heck of a lot of liberals up!!!!
Oh, ok Answerer #4. See, this is why I wanted the exact quote.

The NFL and each team is a business. Any actions that present that business in a negative light need to be addressed quickly and strongly. This is not the first time LJ has cast a shadow over the Chiefs as a business, as such they looked at their options and took the steps they felt they needed to in the best interests of their product.

".....Johnson continued the rant, and, in later responses directed toward Johnson's Twitter followers, contained inflammatory remarks about gays. In a reference to someone's profile picture, Johnson called it a "f** pic" and called the person a "Christopher street boy," a reference to a predominantly gay section in New York's Greenwich Village. Johnson's Twitter profile was taken private and some posts were deleted.

It gets worse. When reporters approached Johnson Monday in the locker room he told them, "I'm not talking till Thursday," his usual day to speak to the media. According to Babb he then whispered, "Get your f****t *** out of here." Classy....."

it wasn't about just that rant
Johnson has been a problem for awhile now
he's been suspended BEFORE by the Chiefs AND the NFL, for "conduct issues".
he;s gotten into trouble with the police and women in clubs
he's attacked his team AND coaches before
the Chiefs warned him BEFORE the season started, that he was on his LAST chance
don't blow it again

He must have wanted out of KC, because he proceeded to attack his team and coach, AGAIN in public

So, the team said "goodbye"
he did it to himself

Problem is, this wasn't the first time Johnson has done something stupid. He has a long history, this was just the last straw. And he used the gay slur in his twitter and the next day to a reporter in the locker room. As for still being talented, he hasn't shown any talent the last 2 years or he'd still be a Chief.
