Why were white people upset that the new Annie remake was a black girl%3F?

Asker, people were upset when a girl who played Annie on Broadway wasn't a real red-head and wore a wig. People are weird and the internet lets weirdos scream their insanity loudly. Just ignore the fools.

Ian Mckellen could play Annie and I wouldn't give a f*ck.

why do black people constantly insert themsleves into every single aspect of white culture? especially when it comes to iconic characters and stories.

you arent white...get over it. why intentionally insert someone black into it?

YOU are a racist, this is socially acceptable hatred towards white people and thats ALL it is. its intentional and its HATEFULL.

write your own stories, your own culture, stop re imagining yourselves as white people. why cant you at least acknowledge your HATE. you obviously like it.

how about we make a remake of shaka zulu and stick a chinese guy as the head role? how about we show the zulu warriors with not only a bunch of asian guys, but throw in a few white guys with blonde hair holding a spear into the mix.

makes perfect sense right? its b.s.

if a movie company in zimbabwe wanted to make a remaked with black people...thats where you could draw an anology.

but this garbage is by design and its done in, and TO white societies and culture. its from tv, to movies, to comics, even documentaries arent spared...youll see a documentary on vikings and manage to see a black guy milling about the background.

its hate, social engineering and multi racializing iconic white culture.

its YOU, what dont you understand? the HATRED is yours. you like it, you condone it, why ARENT you speaking out against it? thats what you SHOULD be doing if you are going to pass yourself off as a "non racist"

typical hypocrite.

This kind of reminds me of the "fans" that got upset over the portrayal of Rue as a black girl in the Hunger Games movie. The thing is, Rue's physical description screamed "person of color" in the novel.

@Scrimshaw, stop foaming at the mouth. Blacks are not constantly culturally appropriating themselves. Like Noelle said, Annie is a fictional character. Historical accuracy is not being undermined in order to encourage racially diverse roles in film. If Abraham Lincoln was played by Morgan Freeman, for instance, that wouldn't make much sense. But, Annie? A fictional character? C'mon.
