Internet Problem?

Hello

I am currently using an Asus Vivo Touch laptop.
I have installed drivers and done all that I can but I am
having a really weird issue with my laptop,

I live in a university residence and each room is provided with an Ethernet connection.
Problem is my laptop wont work with the specific port in my room.
It works in other people's rooms and when other people plug there laptops into
my Ethernet port, it seems to work for them.

Can anyone assist me with this issue ?
My laptop works fine with other ports besides the port in my room.

p.s I have installed and reinstalled the drivers and that seems to not be the issue.
My TCP/IP is set to automatic and the cable is perfectly fine because it works with other laptops that use are plugged into my port.

Check that all your TCP/IP properties for the card are set to automatic. Also check that your patch cable is not a cross-over cable. I have known a cross-over cable to prevent a connection on one port and nt on others, depending on which network switch it is connecting to at the frame cabinet.
