Wii and DS connecting?

I was wondering if after Nintendo shuts down the Wii and DS Internet connecting if they can still connect to each other for games such as Pokémon ranch. And for the Pokémon DS games will I still be able to upload things from the games like Diamond into White?

Local connect multiplayer will still work. Just the wifi, Internet, based connections to connect to anyone not local to you.

Yes, you can still connect the DS to the Wii, you can still connect DS's to each other for trading and battling with local multiplier and stuff.
