Person won't contact me?

I met this guy over the summer through my school's Facebook page and we talked all summer, and he would like and comment on the stuff I would post on my Facebook page. The night before we moved in, I sent him a message talking about how cool it was how college was going to happen so soon, and he continued the conversation in a boring way and then stopped responding, and we've been here for a few days already and he's yet to text me about meeting up. It's still orientation week, though. Should I wait or give up? Or text him in a few days?
