Internet Connection Question?

Last Night i played Hl2 Trough STEAM while Downloading some game over Picktorrent.com then later (and still this moment) My internet Connection is working i have a router that shares the speed to 1 laptop and 1 comp. ( im speaking from the laptop) so..every machine in the house gets the Kilobytes but my comp reduces to 1 kilobyte What did i Do WRONG?
EDIT : I Did uplug My HOLE SYSTEM! nothing worked..it´s so slow that it says that ihave no connection but the status Says anithing

i dont think you did anything wrong probally a small glitch with your computer and can easily be fixed by unplugging the router and the modem and replugging it back in

when you split an internet connection it will eat the bandwidth of your connection when one computer is downloading huge files and the internet will work very very slow on the others or maybe not at all.
