Is it free to use Twitter through my Cell Phone?

I have unlimited texting and I share 700 minutes of talk time with my mom and dad. I do not have internet on my phone and I am not allowed to. So If I get twitter on my phone does it cost any money? And do I need to have internet on my cell phone in order to get it?
I have verizon wireless.

What phone and provider do you have? Usually you would have to have mobile web access and download the app to your phone. Then depending on your phone contract, you may or may not be charged extra every time you use the application, but some Twitter apps can be set up so updates show as text messages.

I too have unlimited text so I use Twitter from my phone only as text messages. Meaning I can send my updates as a text message. I also follow a few that send me their updates by text as well (like CNN otherwise I'd never read the news). But I can only access the full site via online. You simply plug in your cell number into your preferences.

Go to Settings > Devices and plug in the info. Then if you want to have one of the ones you follow send it to you as text messages make sure to click on >Device Updates ON< on their twitter page. You send your updates to the same number that they are received from.

Just sign up for all this on the website Twitter itself, otherwise its not free

It is free of charge. i have a family plan with my mom and grandad. and we have verizon and we don't use the web either. and i have unlimited texting too. but ot is totally free of charge. the site says standard message rates apply. It means whatever your phone company charges you for text messages will apply even when using twitter. So in your case it doesn't matter cause you have unlimited text messages.That message is mainly for people who have limits, such as 500per month.so you relly dont have to worry. for me at least yes all tweets count as a normal txt on your phone plan you have.

Some people's phone plans make them pay for texts or take them out of their limited minutes. If your texts don't count as minutes and are unlimited then texts to and from Twitter should not cost anything.
