Computer won't connect to internet, need some help?
I moved my computer into my room so I had to disconnect everything...its hooked up by cable, and I used the exact same cable to reconnect it in my room but now it won't work. I don't get internet, everything turns on though. The router will flash green the first few seconds I turn everything on, but then it continuously flashes red. The modem's lights are green but flicker & the internet light never even flashes on it.

I don't understand what could be wrong, I'm using the same hook up as in the other room, I tried the waiting/turning it on & off, I ttied resetting the router (apparently the modem doesn't have a reset button). Its been hours I can't get it to work!

Im using my phone to ask this question & can't give additional details so I hope that covers it.

Any ideas?

Reboot the model by unplugging the power and seeing if that does anything.

Try another cable, although you said it worked before. make sure theres no breaks on the cable.

try changing the port where its plugged into on the router and/or connect direct to the modem (maybe router is dead?)

is your cable modem plugged into the original point that the service person installed it on? if it was moved to another point it may not establish a connection to the internet.

I only have one connection in my whole house that is wired to the internet.

There a some but not many homes that have fully wired internet service.

The router lights indicate that you have no connection from the ISP to the ethernet cable or port on the router. If you moved to a different room, you are not using the same hookup unless you somehow managed to move the in- house wiring to the new room?. I am talking about the wire that comes in from outside that connects to router in the original location. Your router is connected to the internet through it.

It iwould not be uncommon for the wiring to have been connected only to the original room.
A DSL modem is an exception and a cable MODEM also but they must be pre-wired.
What service are you using?
